Amanda is a 4th year undergrad at UC Davis, majoring in animal science with an equine emphasis. She grew up a city girl, and only started riding two years ago on an old ranch horse. Shortly after she started riding, she was cutting cattle and helping at brandings. Last year she was active in the UCD Horse Polo Club, UCD Draft Horse and Driving Club, and Davis Rodeo Club. She also began retraining an Arab mare to do gymkhana events in Spring ’09. This year, she will continue driving the drafties, training cranky mares, and will be overly active in the Rodeo Club. :)
After graduation, Amanda hopes to find a job breeding and/or training horses (work or show). She also plans on getting her RVT license. Her cat agrees with her that there should be a dog in the house.
