Now a veterinary student at UC Davis, Christine is a cowgirl from Wonder Valley, CA. She grew up with horses, owning her own horse since the age of four. Christine competed competively in Mill Creek Riders, 4-H, and High School Rodeo, earning such awards as the California State 4-H Horse Classic Senior Gymkhana Highpoint Buckles in 2003 and 2004. She also earned the title "Female Student Athlete of the Year" for the National High School Rodeo Association in 2006. Christine and her 16 year old gelding, Reeces "Rusty" Piece, hope to start competing for the university.
In 2009, Christine took the reins and was successful in reinstating the Davis Rodeo Club as a student group on campus. It was her dream to see a group of people from the university and surrounding communities work together to spread knowledge about the sport of rodeo and to build a strong knit group of avid horsemen and rodeo fans. She served as the President of the club from its initiation in 2009 until she graduated.
Christine graduated in 2010 from UC Davis with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and a minor in Animal Science, Genetics. She is now a student with the Class of 2014 at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine and is the Treasurer of both the UCDSVM Class of 2014 and the SCAVMA Unrestricted Donor Account.
